ICBC made its debut at the inaugural CAEXPO in 2004, showcasing its robust international capabilities, including cross-border settlement, trade financing solutions, and project financing services for large-scale infrastructure projects. Since then, ICBC has consistently participated in CAEXPO. Its exhibits have evolved from initially focusing on traditional services like basic international settlement and trade finance to gradually encompassing broader, more cutting-edge fields such as digital finance, inclusive finance, green finance, cross-border finance, and fintech. The booth design has become increasingly modern and technology-driven, with significantly enhanced interactive experiences, upgrading from static graphics and text displays to dynamic scenario simulations and immersive experiences.
The establishment of the "D-ICBC Digital Finance Experience Pavilion" marked a significant breakthrough in ICBC's exhibition philosophy. Through various formats such as video presentations, posters, physical exhibits, and interactive experiences, the pavilion vividly showcased ICBC's "Top Ten Technology Systems," including "ICBC Internet of Things (loT) system " and "ICBC Big Data system ", as well as the convenient applications of the digital yuan (e-CNY) in various consumption scenarios, attracting large numbers of attendees to stop and experience it.

Furthermore, the CAEXPO platform has provided valuable opportunities for ICBC to strengthen cooperation with financial institutions and enterprises in ASEAN countries. For instance, at the 21st CAEXPO, ICBC Guangxi Branch collaborated with ICBC (Malaysia) Berhad (ICBC Malaysia) to jointly serve the ASEAN market, promoting the use of the renminbi (RMB) in the region and fostering innovation in cross-border financial services.

Currently, the construction of the CAFTA 3.0 is steadily advancing. ICBC stated that it will continue to regard the China-ASEAN region as a crucial pivot in its internationalization strategy. Leveraging the CAEXPO platform, ICBC aims to provide efficient, convenient, and secure financial support for regional economic and trade activities, propelling financial cooperation between China and ASEAN countries to a higher level.
